<<= = ABOUT ROSS CUSTOMS = =>> Ross Stomp entered the restoration and body work industry in 1982. After gaining experience while managing several body shops, he decided to go out on his own and started what has now become Ross Customs in 1996. Ross Customs was created with a focus on Hot Rods; specializing in custom race and street-rod chassis and body work (including a '57 Thunderbird that was used as part of the ad campaign for the new Ford Thunderbird). Ross Customs is a full-featured collision repair shop meeting I-CAR certification requirements. We handle all levels of restoration, from simple repaints to complete frame-off makeovers. We custom fabricate race and street-rod chassis from simple upgrades to a complete chassis. We also create and install custom headers and exhaust.
<<= = ROSS STOMP / ROSS CUSTOMS RACING PROGRAM = =>> 1990 - Began racing with an El Camino and a split-bumper Camaro running 10.5" tires in a non-tubbed frame. The "Budget Bomber" Camaro was featured on the cover of the Oct 1994 issue of Popular Hot Rodding for its article on "9-Seconds The Cheap Way". It was also featured in Super Chevy magazine. 1994 - Built a 1941 Willy to show and race with Super Chevy. This car was also featured in Popular Hot Rodding, Super Chevy and Rod & Custom. The Willy won numerous car shows between 1996-1999 including the Premier Detroit Autorama Street Rod Class. 1997 - Purchased Jerry Hass's Pro stock Monte Carlo and converted it to pro street. It was then campaigned in Hot Rod's Fastest Street Car Shoot-Out. The Monte Carlo was featured in Super Chevy, used in multiple commercial ads, and became one of Hot Rod's poster cars! Ross Stomp took the Monte Carlo on to win the NMCA Pro Street Championship while making several world-record setting passes during the season. 2001 - Replaced the Monte Carlo with a 1962 Impala to run Nostalgia Pro Street. Ross Stomp set the class record at the Impala's second event and maintained it the entire season. After winning 7 out of 10 races he took home the championship for the 2001 season. 2003 - Built a 1969 Nova for the Nostalgia Pro Street class. Ross once again set the class record this season and took home the championship win for the year. During the season Stomp was also hired mid-year to drive a Pro-5.0 Mustang and fished the season second in points. 2004 - Ross Stomp finished number two in Nostalgia Pro Street and was hired to drive Harrison Hoe's Ultimate Split-Window Corvette in the IHRA Top Sportsman series. He received the Top Sportsman award from Dart Machine for outstanding performance. 2005 - Built another new Nova which was back-halfed to run a 10.5 tire for the Outlaw 10.5 class but also ran in the Nostalgia Pro Street class. Due to an overload of work at the shop, Ross Stomp chose not to complete all of the season's races; allowing him to focus on his customers.
